Purpose
This SOP outlines the steps required to enroll in and activate E-Verify within Elevated. Enrollment involves completing the required training and test in the system, signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with USCIS, and confirming registration. Once complete, users can submit E-Verify requests directly from completed Form I-9s.
Step 1: Complete the Required Training and Test
- Navigate to: Main Menu > Team > HR > Employee Maintenance > E-Verify

- On the E-Verify User Registration screen, click Start Tutorial and complete the tutorial.
- Once the tutorial is complete, click Start Test and pass the test. Passing the test grants access to use E-Verify in the system.

Step 2: Sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
- Once the previous steps are complete, you will receive an email from USCIS (enrollment@uscis.dhs.gov) with the subject line: Welcome to E-Verify and Your Client Enrollment.
- Open the email and click the Sign MOU Here link, then review and electronically sign the Memorandum of Understanding.

Important
The MOU link expires after 24 hours. If the link has expired, contact your HR Consultant to request a new one.
If the MOU email is not received, contact your HR consultant.

Step 3: Confirm Registration
- After the MOU is signed and training is complete, you will receive a confirmation email from UKG Support containing your E-Verify Company ID.
- Retain this email for your records. Registration is now complete, and you are able to make submissions to E-Verify.

Submitting E-Verify Requests
Once registration is complete, E-Verify requests are submitted from completed Form I-9s:
- Navigate to: Main Menu > My Team > HR > Forms > Government Forms – I-9.
- Click the pencil icon next to an I-9 dated within the last 3 days with a status of Employee Completed.
- Verify all information is accurate, then click Sign and Verify.
- Click Add E-Verify Requests, attach the supporting documents, and follow the prompts to submit.
- If all information is correct, an employment verification is returned. If not, you may need to verify the employee's photo or download a Further Action Notice to provide to the employee, then record their choice.
