Mass Skill Assignment Using the "New Experience" Interface

Purpose
This article explains how to mass assign skills to employees using the "New Experience" interface in Advanced Scheduling. It also provides an overview of how primary and secondary skills impact scheduling so you can ensure employees are assigned appropriately to eligible roles.

Please note that this guide may not address every scenario, and certain features may be hidden or unavailable based on your company's specific configuration or your user permissions. If you have any questions regarding the assignment of Skills, Scheduled Cost Centers, or Scheduler Profiles, or if you need clarification on the functionality of these features, please contact your assigned specialist for further assistance.

Overview

Navigate to the Advanced Schedules page using the search bar or the following path:
Main Menu > Team tab > Schedule icon > Advanced Scheduling > Schedules

Once on the main Schedules page, locate the “Try the new experience” toggle in the top-right corner. Enabling this option updates the layout of the page.

You can switch back to the original view at any time by turning the toggle off.

Tip: You can move between both experiences as needed to take advantage of different features.

Scroll down to the People & Skills section and select Assign Skills. This opens the Schedulable Skills page, where you can update each employee’s primary and secondary skills.

A skill indicates that an employee is eligible to work in a specific role. For employees with multiple skills, assigning a primary skill helps the system prioritize how they are scheduled.

In the Schedulable Skills table, each employee is listed with skill columns displayed across the page. Select the checkbox under each relevant skill column for the corresponding employee to assign that skill. Use the drop-down menu to designate a Primary Skill as needed.

Select Save in the top-right corner to save your changes.
