How to Apply a Benefit Profile Enrollment Override

How to Apply a Benefit Profile Enrollment Override

Purpose

The ability for a New/Re-Hire employee to enroll in your company's Benefit Plans is tied directly to their Benefit Profile in the Elevated System. Without a Benefit Profile assigned to their account, the option to enroll or request changes will not appear to employees. For guidance on how to apply benefit profiles, please reference this Article.

To give employees the ability to submit their elections prior to their coverage start date, the system has a Benefit Profile Enrollment Override Widget built in that will allow employees to enroll in benefits prior to their effective date.

Please be aware that this guide is not all encompassing and that benefit settings are customized per client. If you have any questions regarding a specific setting or process within your system or its purpose, please reach out to your designated specialist or to the hrtechsupport@greenleafbizsolutions.com email for assistance.

Applying the Benefit Profile Enrollment Override

  1. Locate the employee's profile either through the Employee Information report or via your Search bar and navigate to their Benefits Tab (or Benefits & ACA Tab, depending on your setup) of their profile.
  2. Within this tab, locate the Benefit Profile Enrollment Override widget,
    1. For ease of access, you can use the Jump To Menu on the left-hand side of the screen to locate this window.

  1. Once located, identify the following information:
    1. Profile - Enter the profile in which they would be eligible for benefits (i.e., the plans you'd like them to enroll in)
    2. Start Date - Identify the date you'd like them to be able to start enrolling (this is generally set to their hire date unless you wish them to enroll later)
    3. End Date - Identify the date you'd like them to no longer be able to enroll (this is generally set to the date they would become eligible)

Notes
Please Note: Entering an end date generally does not end the employee's ability to enroll. If the employee has a benefit profile assigned as expected, the system will allow them to enroll based on your profile setup. If you have questions on this, please reach out to your designated representative.

  1. Once finished, be sure to Save the changes within their profile and check with the employee to ensure they can enroll as expected.
