MFA & Password Policy Updates (August 2023)

MFA & Password Policy Updates (August 2023)

Green Leaf is implementing a new set of security measures this year within the Elevated Platform to keep your organization's data safe and secure 24/7. Our system has always utilized Two-Factor Authentication to log in (i.e., receiving a code to your phone via text or phone call as well as email). However, the August Release will be increasing security by specifying the types of authentication methods based on your level of access. These enhanced password and MFA requirements are designed to protect your data and provide users with a more secure experience.

The August Release will be implemented as of August 3rd, 2023.

New Authentication Policies are being implemented in order to control the level of authentication required of users when they log into our system. These Authentication Polices will be dictated by the level of security access users have to our system. Thus, if a user has a high level of security access, they will be restricted to a much higher level of authentication.

  • All Administrator and some Manager level security profiles (depending on access) will be considered a High Level of Authentication, which is limited to only using Voice or the Authenticator App for verification.
  • Most Manager level security profiles (depending on access) will be considered a Medium Level of Authentication, which is limited to using Voice, Email, or the Authenticator App for verification.
  • All Employee level security profiles will be considered a Low Level of Authentication, which will allow them to use Text, Voice, Email, or the Authenticator App for verification.

Additionally, longer, more complex passwords will also be required for all employees logging into the system. Once the new updates have been implemented, users will be required to have passwords that are 15 characters in length with at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one numeral, and one special character.

We recommend that your team review the documentation and communicate to employees in a timely manner to ensure everyone is prepared for the switch.
