The state of New York requires both a Withholding Tax ID,  State Unemployment Tax ID, Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML), and State Disability Insurance (SDI),  all formats and links to apply are below. Please note that New York Paid Family Leave and State Disability will be withheld from the employee but Green Leaf will NOT be able to pay or file returns on your behalf. New York requires clients to process PFML and SDI with them directly due to the agencies requirement.

Already Have a Tax ID?
If your business is already registered with the tax agency and you need Green Leaf to add the tax ID to your account, please submit a request to our Tax Department and select “Add or Remove Tax Jurisdiction” from the ticket-reason dropdown. Please include documentation from the agency confirming the tax ID and account information.

Need to Obtain a New Tax ID?
If your business is not yet registered, you may register directly with the applicable tax agency using the application links provided on this page.

Important: New tax IDs should be provided to Green Leaf as soon as possible when processing payroll for employees working or residing in the applicable jurisdiction. If payroll tax liabilities are incurred before the required tax ID and account information are provided, Green Leaf may be unable to make timely payments or file required returns. Any resulting penalties, interest, or other fees will remain the responsibility of the business.
