Warning: "Employee home address is not resolved. Overridden local values used"

⚠️ Warning

"Employee home address is not resolved. Overridden local values used"

📘 What It Means

This message appears when the system is unable to validate the employee’s home address during payroll processing. When an address can't be verified, the system applies default local tax settings based on available information—this is referred to as an “override.”

Why This Happens:
Common reasons include:

  • A typo or incomplete entry in the street, city, state, or ZIP code

  • Use of a P.O. Box instead of a physical home address

  • An address format that doesn’t align with postal standards

What the System Is Doing:
When the employee’s home address cannot be validated, the system defaults to assigning local tax settings based on the company’s address rather than the employee’s actual location.

If the employee lives in a different tax jurisdiction than the company, this can result in incorrect local taxes being calculated, omitted, or assigned to the wrong agency. Left unresolved, it may require payroll corrections and/or tax amendments at quarter-end.
