📘 What It Means

The State of South Carolina requires employers to report an Occupational Code for each employee as part of their quarterly wage reporting. This code, based on the Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system, helps the state analyze labor market trends, support workforce development programs, and meet federal reporting standards. Assigning the correct SOC code ensures your filings are accurate and compliant with Alaska’s unemployment insurance and workforce reporting requirements.
